About the resort

"Our home is your home... so welcome to our little piece of paradise on one of the best stretch of beach in Tulum. Amansala is named after the peaceful crystal clear waters of Tulum, and to this day it is still one of Tulum's most iconic, eco-chic boutique hotels. Amansala was founded on the belief that a true vacation is one where you come back looking and feeling better than when you arrived." -

To that end, Amansala is a full service resort that puts equal emphasis on indulgence as it does on the restoration of the mind, body and spirit. They believe in creating an experience that centers around the natural beauty and resources unique to Tulum. Amansala uses ALL natural materials and resources to create simple yet luxurious rooms with ocean breezes, a health focused menu and list of restorative retreats to suit your needs.

Unwind with your favorite ATX teachers, Lizzie Aguirre and JJ Pepper for an All-Inclusive 5 Day Yoga Retreat in Tulum to tune out and look within. Expect daily yoga and meditation, sound baths, breath work, live music, ocean time, clean food and infinite laughter. Come to progress, connect, grow and dive deeper.

about the teachers

Lizzie aguirre

Lizzie is grateful to have been inspired by yoga since her teen years. Before finding her practice she was moving through a difficult transition around body image, anxiety and depression. Yoga was a deeply moving process for her that helped lead her to her light. At the young age of 17, she embarked on her journey to becoming a yoga teacher. She is E-RYT 200HR and 500HR RYT certified and is dedicated to her expansive study of the world through means of travel and her continuos education with extraordinarily cultured teachers. She teaches at Black Swan Yoga, Wanderlust Yoga Austin and Practice Yoga Austin. Her sequencing is intuitively creative and her flows are formed to challenge, inspire, empower, and transform you and your practice. Her playlists are mindfully arranged and influenced by her vast performance arts background of voice, classical piano, and ballet. You might even be laid to rest for savasana with a gift of song. Lizzie has been fortunate enough to travel to over 15 countries so far and is grateful to combine her love for adventure with her love of yoga. l She hopes to hold space for those who come to her class whether it is to sweat, laugh or move. Most of all she wants to create the same energy her teachers did for her when she needed it most.

“We have nothing to lose and a world to see”.

"Being connected not only makes us feel Great, it helps us accomplish the goals we want to in this life, because nobody is in this fight or this life alone. I am a Health Promotion/Kinesiology Major and Psychology Minor with a specialization as a Health Fitness Instructor. However as I have gotten older I've become more interested in as I call it the Holy Trinity of balance between the Body, Spirit and Mind. Spending 10 days in the mountains of Australia in noble silence and solitude except for my lone spiritual guide educating me in the art of true meditation brought me to terms with who I am, what life is all about and what really matters in this world(and taught a hyperactive ADHD youngster about patience). Happiness, love, laughter, connection and the balance of mind, body and spirit is what matters. Only being strong in one of these aspects leaves you cutoff to what the Universe has to offer you as it is trying to connect with all of us. Only through balancing all three can we really be in tune with everything happening around us and can we really revel in the beauty of life.."
